Fred was born and raised in Utica, Ohio and grew up very familiar with mixed animal veterinary medicine. He attended The Ohio State University and finished his education at Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology with a double major in Commercial and Portrait Photography. He met his wife Dr. Patricia Berchtold at a veterinary function that he was attending with his father and brother who are also veterinarians. Fred and Patty moved to New Jersey where Fred practiced freelance photography and worked in a Photo Studio outside of New York City. They moved to the New England area in 1999 where Fred worked for a wine distributor for several years prior to owning the hospital. Fred and Patty have a son Finn and live in North Chelmsford. Fred is a member if the Chelmsford Business Association and the Chelmsford Rotary. When not working, Fred enjoys golfing, cooking and traveling.
