Dr. Berchtold was born and raised in Woburn, Massachusetts. She attended Tufts University for her undergraduate studies and then headed to the Midwest for veterinary school at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduation she completed an intensive year-long internship in Small Medicine and Surgery at the Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. She has special interests in internal medicine and emergency medicine.

After veterinary school Dr. Berchtold moved back to New England to set up residence. In her free time she enjoys golfing and hiking with her husband and spending time with her dogs Fritz and Bear
