Dr. Claire Thomas is a Massachusetts native and has been a resident of Chelmsford since 1992. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration, from Mass College for Liberal Arts in 1987 she embarked on a career in sales and marketing. A business career which began in Massachusetts culminated in an overseas position in Australia. Choosing to start a family and remain at home while her children were young, she and her husband (Art) moved to Chelmsford and raised their two boys (Alex & Ben). During this time, the pursuit of a new found hobby (recreational horseback riding) grew into a career of teaching. Therapeutic horseback riding instruction for the disabled and recreational horseback riding for able-bodied riders soon became a passion. Witnessing the medical and emotional benefits derived from this unique interaction changed her life and career goals, ultimately compelling her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Claire Thomas received her doctorate from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, remains a licensed therapeutic riding instructor, and is honored to serve the community in which she lives.
